The New Return and Earn App

Hey myTOMRA users! There’s a new app in town.

The new Return and Earn app will replace the myTOMRA app in New South Wales. You will still be able to track your recycling and refunds on the new app. Visit the Return and Earn website for more information on how to get your recycling refund digitally.

On 5 April 2022 the Return and Earn app will be launched. All NSW myTOMRA app users will need to move over to the Return and Earn app in the weeks following April 5. If you are an existing myTOMRA app user, you can log into the Return and Earn app with your myTOMRA app username and password. Your pending refunds, recycling history and account details will be transferred from the myTOMRA app to the Return and Earn app. Once you are successfully logged in to the Return and Earn app, the access to your myTOMRA account will be removed 24 hours later.

The Return and Earn app will have ALL 600+ return points on the map, including Over the Counter collection points and Automated Depots, allowing you to find the closest return point to you. Later this year, you will be able to use the Return and Earn app can at these sites to receive a digital refund.

The Return and Earn app will provide a better experience to all users of the Return and Earn scheme. The new app includes ALL all 600+ Return and Earn collection points on the map, including Over the Counter collection points and Automated Depots. Later this year, you will be able to use the Return and Earn app can at these sites to receive a digital refund.

If you have an existing account for the myTOMRA app in NSW, log in to the Return and Earn app with these existing myTOMRA account details. Your pending refunds, recycling history, and account details will transfer over. Once you are successfully logged in to the Return and Earn app, the access to your myTOMRA account will be removed 24 hours later.
If you do not use the myTOMRA app, follow the instructions on the home page of the Return and Earn app and sign up with an email address or PayPal account.

The myTOMRA app will continue to work for now, however in coming weeks all NSW app users will be required to move to the Return and Earn app. Your recycling history and any pending refunds will transfer over to the Return and Earn app if you sign in with the same email and password.

The myTOMRA app will still be visible on your phone but in coming weeks it will no longer be active in NSW. Meaning in coming weeks when you open your myTOMRA app you will see a message informing you to move to the Return and Earn app. Once you have moved over to the Return and Earn app you can delete the myTOMRA app from your phone if you wish.

The Return and Earn app is powered by TOMRA. If you have set up your Return and Earn app with the same login as your myTOMRA app we cannot delete your myTOMRA app without also deleting your Return and Earn app account. If you have set up your Return and Earn app account with a different email address, we can delete your myTOMRA account. If you would like to delete your account, please ensure there is no pending balance in the myTOMRA app. Then email us from the email address you use to log into your myTOMRA account and we can delete your account for you.

The Return and Earn app is powered by TOMRA and works in the same way as the myTOMRA app. Scan you barcode at the RVM before beginning your session, enter your containers, then click transfer. Your refund will then be transferred to the payout method selected in your app. Payout methods include donation to your selected charity, bank transfer, PayPal and digital voucher (selected locations only).

The Return and Earn app will have 5 of the achievements previously on the myTOMRA app. If you have unlocked the same achievements on myTOMRA, they will transfer over to the new Return and Earn app.
Achievements on the Return and Earn app include:

  • Number of containers recycled
  • Money sent through payout providers
  • Money sent through digital voucher
  • Number of different locations visited
  • Donated X amount of times
