Welcome to TOMRA Coconut Grove! Darwin’s only fully automated Recycling Centre. Located at 11 Tang Street, it has 6 Reverse Vending Machines, express bag drop, commercial bulk service and air-conditioning.
So it’s faster, family-friendly and more rewarding than ever. Plus, no more pre-sorting your containers by colour, you now only need to separate glass from lightweights and our technology will sort the rest for you.

How to get your refund
Cash
- Simply return your containers at the machine, then press the “Voucher” button.
- Exchange your voucher at the counter to get your cash
PayPal
- Download the myTOMRA App, select Paypal as your payout method and link to your Paypal account.
- Scan your myTOMRA App barcode at the machine before you start your session.
- Insert your containers and select Payout when you’re done. You should receive your refund within 1 business day.
Charity Donation
- Return your containers, select “Donate” on screen, and choose the on-screen charity of your choice.
- Insert your containers and select “Payout” on the screen when you’re done. The charity will receive 100% of your donated refund.
What’s Eligible?
Most beverage containers (larger than 150ml and smaller than 3L) that are made from aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard are eligible for a 10c refund when returned to a Return and Earn Reverse Vending Machine.
Do not crush the containers or remove the labels as our scanners will need to identify the shape, label and barcode to register the refund.
