TOMRA launches new RVC in Forrestdale, WA

Forrestdale locals will soon be able to help the planet and get rewarded for recycling their empty drink containers at the suburb’s newest Containers for Change TOMRA   – located 3 mins from Bunnings Armidale.

The new indoor recycling centre features 6 of the very latest high tech TOMRA reverse vending machines and will allow Forrestdale residents to return up to 100 containers a minute for a 10c refund in air-conditioned comfort whatever the weather. Customers simply insert their empty eligible drink containers into the machine which automatically recognises and counts your eligible glass, plastic, cans and cartons for recycling. Recyclers have a choice of a retail cash refund, donating to a cause or a direct digital transfer to PayPal or their bank account via their Containers for Change Member ID.

“We are so excited to be able to bring our advanced recycling technology to the local community of Forrestdale. Not only will this give locals a new way to protect the environment around them, it will provide the opportunity to earn extra money or donate it to those within their community who need it most,” says Ryan Buzzell, TOMRA Collection President.

“By using this return point, in combination with your household recycling collection, we can all do our bit to reduce the millions of containers that are littered in our environment each year, while also being rewarded for our efforts,” he said.

Recyclers can also choose to donate some or all of their refund to one of the 4000 participating Containers for Change charities, via their scheme ID barcode – with 100 per cent of the refunds donated going directly to the chosen organisation. There’s also the option to donate to TOMRA’s ‘Containers 4 Kids’ recycling Appeal and help Starlight Children’s Foundation brighten the lives of sick kids and their families.

The Forrestdale centre is located at 10/2 Hensbrook and will be open 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm Mon-Sat and 9am-6pm on Sundays and public holidays.

The new centre is one of more than 258 return points available across Western Australia. Since its creation, the Containers for Change scheme has seen more than 1 billion containers returned for recycling, with donations to local charities totalling over 3.7 million dollars.
